Marily Keiser is chancellor's Professor Emeritus of Music at Indiana University and Director of Music at Trinity Episcopal Church. Prior to her appointment at Indiana University, Dr. Keiser was Organist and Director of Music at All Souls parish in Asheville, NC, and music consultant for the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina.

After graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University, Marilyn Keiser attended New York City's Union Theological Seminary, where she graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Sacred Music degree, followed in 1977 by a doctorate in sacred music. She has received the Doctor of Humane Letters (honoris causa) from Virginia Theological Seminary and Illinois Wesleyan University. She has appeared throughout the United States and overseas as a recitalist, including concerts for national and regional conventions of the American Guild of Organists. She has also been heard in performance on National Pubic Radio and has made numerous recordings.

A virtuoso concert organist, Marilyn Keiser has given lectures and workshops in church music. She has served as president of the Association of Anglican Musicians, served on the Episcopal Church's Standing Commission on Church Music, and was a consultant to the Hymn Music Committee for the Episcopal HYMNAL 1982. She served for five years as the chairman of the Advisory Board for the Leadership Program for Musicians Serving Small Congregations. She is currently serving as chair of a Task Force on Mentorin sponsored by the Association of Anglican Musicians. She has given lectures and workshops in church music for all of the major denominations. The American Organist observed: "She represents to the organ world what the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis did to America: the epitome of taste, dignity, and elegance."
